Withholding or Withdrawing Treatment
Withholding or withdrawing treatment (“pulling the plug”) is not euthanasia if the purpose is to remove burdensome treatment, as opposed to an intent to kill the individual. More importantly, the individual will not necessarily die. Consider this quote from Washington State regarding a man removed from a ventilator:
